Weber State edges Sacramento State 73-70

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Scott Bamforth scored 17 points and Weber State defeated Sacramento State 73-70 on Saturday night.

The Wildcats (17-10, 11-4), who led 36-31 at the half, stretched it to as many as 15 points in the second half and held on. Jackson Carbajal’s layup with 1:07 left pulled the Hornets (7-20, 4-11) within three points, but neither team scored the rest of the way.

Duro Bjegovic had a game-high 21 points and Sultan Toles-Bey added 17 points and 10 assists for the Hornets.

Both teams were hot from beyond the 3-point arc. Sacramento State made 11 of 22 attempts, and Weber State connected on 10 of 20.
