AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Kenny Gabriel posted his first double-double since the season opener with 17 points (all in the first half) and 12 rebounds, and Auburn cruised past Grambling State 63-45 on Friday.
Auburn (6-7) blew the game open with a 20-0 run in the first half to take a 32-10 lead as Grambling (2-10) went scoreless for 8:44.
Grambling scored only 15 points in the first 20 minutes, committed 15 turnovers and shot 23.3 percent (7 of 30) from the field. Grambling finished with 23 turnovers, shot 32.7 percent (17 of 52) from the field and never got closer than 14 in the second half.
Raschard Boatner scored a game-high 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc, for Grambling.
Earnest Ross had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Rob Chubb added 10 points for Auburn, which won its third game in a row.
