Dia records double-double in SMU’s 82-49 victory

DALLAS (AP) — Papa Dia scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the 17th double-double of his career as SMU defeated Dallas Christian 82-49 Saturday.

Robert Nyakundi added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Mustangs (9-4), winners of five straight. Nyakundi made four 3-pointers, moving him into seventh place all-time at SMU with 124 3-pointers. Rodney Clinkscales scored 16 points and Mike Walker had 15 for SMU, which shot 52 percent (26 of 50). SMU led 40-24 at halftime.

Isaac Gonzales had 15 points and seven rebounds to lead the Crusaders (2-19), who won the Association of Christian College Athletics national championship last March. Antwoine Warren scored 12 points and Howard Hughes added 10 for Dallas Christian.
