Silver Medallion wins Santa Anita feature

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Silver Medallion defeated Ten Devils by a half-length to win the $79,950 Eddie Logan Stakes for 2-year-olds on Friday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Garrett Gomez, Silver Medallion covered one mile on turf in 1:35.67 and paid $12.60, $4.80 and $3.20 as a 6-1 shot.

Ten Devils returned $2.60 and $2.10, while Moment of Weakness paid $2.40 to show.

The victory, worth $47,970, increased Silver Medallion’s career earnings to $92,904.

In the earlier sister stakes race, 9-10 favorite Tales in Excess nudged Wave of Applause to win the $80,300 Blue Norther for 2-year-old fillies. Ridden by Joel Rosario, Tales in Excess covered the mile on turf in 1:36.23. She paid $3.80.
