SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Chargers say special teams coach Steve Crosby will not be back next season.
Special teams blunders contributed to a 2-5 start that helped keep the Chargers out of the playoffs. The Chargers allowed four returns for touchdowns, including a 97-yard touchdown in Sunday’s win at Denver, and had five punts blocked.
Coach Norv Turner defended Crosby at midseason but was quick to cut him loose on Monday, saying his contract will not be renewed.
