BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — Not surprisingly for a county with four ferry terminals, the U.S. Census says Kitsap County has the highest percentage in the nation of ferry commuters in its work force.

The Kitsap Sun says the figures show about 5.5 percent of the county’s work force regularly take a ferry. The county has an estimated 5,500 to 6,600 workers.

The county has ferry terminals at Southworth, Bremerton, Bainbridge Island and Kingston.
