RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Pete Carroll is remaining quiet about who the Seattle Seahawks’ starting quarterback will be against New Orleans in the NFC playoffs.

Carroll avoided naming a starter on Wednesday morning. He continued to say that Matt Hasselbeck and Charlie Whitehurst will split reps in practice and said that both of them will be available come Saturday afternoon against the Saints.

Asked if he knew who the starter would be and was just playing coy, Carroll said, “You’ll never know.”

Whitehurst started Sunday night against St. Louis in place of Hasselbeck, who strained a hip muscle a week earlier against Tampa Bay. Whitehurst threw the only touchdown of the game in Seattle’s 16-6 victory over the Rams.
