ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Detroit general manager Martin Mayhew says linebacker Julian Peterson will not return to the team next season, but he is otherwise mum about the Lions’ offseason plans.

Mayhew met with reporters late Wednesday afternoon, shortly after Detroit finished the season 6-10 but on a four-game winning streak.

Peterson was deactivated for Sunday’s win over Minnesota despite no apparent injury. He had started 14 games this season and 14 last season for the Lions.

Mayhew didn’t give much detail on how Detroit will look to improve this offseason, saying he likes to keep the team’s needs in house.
