Clark County consumer spending showed signs of bouncing back in the three months ending in the third quarter of 2010, according to a state report issued Wednesday.

The county posted $1.1 billion in overall retail sales from July through September, up 6 percent compared with the same period in 2009, according to state Department of Revenue figures.

Clark County store-only sales climbed 2.5 percent from a year earlier, to $483 million, but remained below third quarter figures for 2007 ($542 million) and 2008 ($499 million). Statewide, taxable retail sales climbed 0.2 percent year-over-year, with store-only sales rising 2.5 percent to $11.9 billion.
