Northern Arizona defeats Idaho State 82-80 in OT

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Cameron Jones scored a career-high 37 points and made a three-point play that put Northern Arizona ahead with 35.9 seconds left in overtime as the Lumberjacks edged Idaho State 82-80 on Thursday night.

Jones forced overtime with an off-balanced 3-pointer from the wing with 23.2 seconds left in regulation, tying the game at 67.

Then, with his team trailing by two late in overtime, Jones hit a drive in traffic and converted the ensuing free throw to put Northern Arizona (9-6, 1-2 Big Sky) up for good.

Gabe Rogers scored 20 points while Shane Johannsen added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Lumberjacks.

Stallon Saldivar had a career high 13 assists and no turnovers for Northern Arizona.

Broderick Gilchrest led the Bengals (5-10, 1-2) with 22 points. Phyllip Taylor had a career-high 17 points and Chase Grabau added 11 for Idaho State.
