GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Andrew Goudelock scored 31 points to lead College of Charleston over Furman 76-72 on Thursday night.
Goudelock, ranked No. 8 in the country with 22.9 points per game, was 10 of 19 from the field and 9 of 11 from the free-throw line as the Cougars (10-5, 2-0 Southern Conference) beat Furman for the sixth straight time.
The Paladins (10-4, 2-1) tied it at 70 on Amu Saaka’s jumper with 2:40 left, but Goudelock made Charleston’s last six points. His jumper put the Cougars up for good, 72-70, with 41 seconds left. Then, after Saaka missed a 3-pointer with 26 seconds to go, the Charleston guard made 4 of 4 from the foul line.
Willis Hall added 11 points and Donavan Monroe chipped in 10 for the Cougars, who shot 55.8 percent from the field (29 of 52).
Saaka led Furman with 27 points and Justin Dehm added 12.
