ST. LOUIS (AP) — Saint Louis has readmitted Kwamain Mitchell, the junior point guard who was suspended just before the start of fall practices.

The school said in a release Thursday that Mitchell was eligible to enroll in classes for the spring semester. Mitchell’s educational record, including academic standing and matters relating to student contact, were reviewed in making its decision.

Mitchell and center Willie Reed, who also was suspended, were the Billikens’ top two returning players from last season. Saint Louis is 5-9 without them, in addition to being without ailing coach Rick Majerus for the next two games.

Upon receiving clearance by the NCAA, Mitchell would be eligible to participate immediately. Majerus has said in the past that he would advise Mitchell, who averaged 15.9 points and three assists last season, to redshirt this season.
