Belichick: ‘Full speed ahead’ in Jets preparations

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick doesn’t think their two regular season games against the New York Jets mean much for the upcoming playoff game between the teams.

The Jets earned a trip to Foxborough, Mass., for the divisional playoff round next Sunday by beating the Indianapolis Colts 17-16 on Saturday night. Had the Jets lost, the Patriots would have played the winner of Sunday’s game between Baltimore and Kansas City.

During the regular season, the Patriots lost to the Jets 28-14 then beat them 45-3. Belichick said Sunday those games will have little bearing on the playoff meeting. He said that even though the teams know each other well, games are different each time they play.

So he said now it’s “full speed ahead” on the Patriots preparations for the Jets.
