WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — Over the years, Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Wenatchee area has completed 43 individual houses.
Now it’s moving to the next level in developing a six-home subdivision.
The project planned on a vacant lot in Wenatchee is still winding its way through city and county planners.
The Wenatchee World reports Habitat hopes to start construction this summer and complete two homes by the end of the year.
The three- and four-bedroom homes will cost $110,000 to $115,000. Costs are kept low by discounted and donated materials, volunteer labor and the “sweat equity” of the buyers.
