Kentucky shuts down South Carolina in 66-48 win

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Victoria Dunlap had 20 points and eight rebounds, and No. 19 Kentucky held South Carolina without a field goal over the final 8 minutes in a 66-48 win on Thursday night.

Freshman Bernisha Pinkett added a career-high 18 points for the Wildcats (12-4, 1-2 Southeastern Conference), shooting 8 of 11 from the field.

Kentucky trailed 45-43 with 12:40 left but held the Gamecocks to only three points and forced 12 turnovers the rest of the way.

Valerie Nainima scored 13 points for South Carolina (9-8, 1-3), which had 28 turnovers overall that led to 30 Kentucky points.
