LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Troy Gillenwater and Hernst Laroche scored 13 points each to help New Mexico State to an 82-64 victory over Hawaii on Thursday night.

Christian Kabongo added 12 points and Gordo Castillo 10 for the Aggies, (9-9, 3-1 Western Athletic), who won for the seventh time in nine games.

Zane Johnson led Hawaii (9-8, 0-5) with a career-high 25 points. Vander Joaquim had 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Bill Amis added 10 points for the Warriors, who have lost six straight to New Mexico State.

The Aggies shot 49 percent from the floor and scored 20 points off 20 Hawaii turnovers.

Gillenwater shook off a foot injury to spark the Aggies to a 17-8 run in the last 5:50 of the first half for a 42-29 halftime lead.

New Mexico State later built its advantage to 30 points, pulling away with a 10-2 run early in the second half.
