St. Francis (N.Y.) defeats Wagner 72-56

NEW YORK (AP) — Ricky Cadell scored 23 points and Stefan Perunicic added 16 to lead St. Francis (N.Y.) past Wagner 72-56 on Thursday night.

The Terriers (8-8, 3-2 Northeast Conference) led by as many as 11 in the opening half before entering halftime with a 31-21 advantage despite shooting 28.1 percent from the floor (9 for 32).

St. Francis extended its lead to 18 on two occasions in the second half thanks to a 22-of-32 shooting effort from the free-throw line (68.8 percent).

Tyler Murray scored 20 points and Orlando Parker added 13 for the Seahawks (8-8, 4-1), who shot just 35.7 percent from the field (20 of 56), including 1 of 13 from 3-point range (7.7 percent).

The Terriers, who snapped a three-game losing skid, outrebounded Wagner 45-35 and made nearly twice as many free throws (33) as field goals (17).

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Seahawks.
