BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — A judge in Bellingham gave the maximum 22-year prison sentence to a man who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the beating death of his infant son.

The Bellingham Herald reports Whatcom County Superior Court Judge Ira Uhrig told 43-year-old Jon V. Frazier of Custer on Wednesday it would be appropriate for him to be haunted by memories.

The baby suffered a broken leg and skull in August 2009. Frazier initially claimed the baby had been abducted but later led detectives to the body. The boy’s mother had gone to jail the day before in a robbery case.
