KEIZER, Ore. (AP) — Police in Keizer say a man charged with killing his wife told them he suspected she’d been having an affair and found text messages and e-mails that confirmed the relationship.

The Salem Statesman Journal reports that a statement police filed in court said that Peter John Zielinski told a detective that his wife looked at him with disgust and asked him to leave her alone on the morning she was shot.

The 39-year-old man is being held without bail on a murder charge. His 38-year-old wife, Lisa, was shot in the head Wednesday.
