St. Francis (Pa.) tops Fairleigh Dickinson 69-55

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) — Umar Shannon had a career-high 24 points and St. Francis (Pa.) overpowered Fairleigh Dickinson in the second half for a 69-55 victory on Saturday night.

Fairleigh Dickinson (3-12, 2-4 Northeast Conference), which lost its ninth straight, led by as many as nine points in the first half and was up 33-26 at halftime.

But the Red Flash (4-13, 2-4), which ended an 11-game skid Thursday against Monmouth, held Fairleigh Dickinson to 8-of-22 shooting from the field in the second half. Combined with their 59.1-percent shooting in the second half, the Red Flash outscored the Knights 43-22 over the final 20 minutes.

Will Felder had 13 points and eight rebounds for St. Francis and Kameron Ritter added a career-high 11 points.

Mike Scott led Fairleigh Dickinson with 19 points and nine rebounds. Briahn Smith added 13 points and John Galvin had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
