PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland firefighters had a challenging job Monday night putting out a conveyor belt fire in a pit at a foundry.
The hot metal and confined space at the ESCO manufacturing facility in northwest Portland were unlike anything firefighters see at house fires.
Portland Fire and Rescue says firefighters followed safety precautions and quickly put out the fire.
