DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — The Miami Dolphins have finalized the hiring of Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator.

The Dolphins scheduled a media availability on Wednesday for Daboll, who was the Cleveland Browns’ offensive coordinator the past two seasons. Miami’s decision to hire Daboll was first reported Monday.

Daboll wasn’t expected to be retained by the Browns after they fired head coach Eric Mangini following a second successive 5-11 season. Dan Henning left the Dolphins after three seasons as their coordinator.

Daboll takes over an offense that ranked 21st in the NFL in yardage this season. The Dolphins were next to last in the AFC in points — behind only the Browns.
