MILWAUKEE (AP) — First baseman Prince Fielder and the Milwaukee Brewers have avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a $15.5 million, one-year contract.

Fielder, a Scott Boras client who can become a free agent after this year’s World Series, hit .261 with 32 homers and 83 RBIs last season. It was the lowest batting average in his big league career.

Left-hander Manny Parra also avoided arbitration, agreeing to a $1.2 million, one-year deal.
