KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Royals and right-hander Kyle Davies have agreed to a $2.3 million, one-year contract that avoided arbitration.
Davies was 8-12 with a 5.34 ERA in a career-high 32 starts last year, when he made $2.15 million. He was acquired from Atlanta in 2007 and is 28-35 with a 5.15 ERA in 86 starts for the Royals.
First baseman Billy Butler is the only Royals player remaining in arbitration.
