CLEVELAND (AP) — Cavaliers starting guard Mo Williams could be sidelined for several weeks with a hip injury, another blow to the NBA’s worst team.

Williams received a cortisone shot on Wednesday to relieve the pain. He has already missed seven games this season because of the injury and doctors want him to rest before deciding the next course of treatment. Williams said surgery is not an option.

The Cavs have been ravaged by injuries. They have dropped 13 in a row and 23 of 24 entering Wednesday night’s game against Phoenix. Center Anderson Varejao is out for the season with a torn ankle tendon and is expected to undergo surgery this week.
