Xavier rallies to defeat St. Bonaventure 79-65

OLEAN, N.Y. (AP) — Tu Holloway scored 22 points to lead five players in double figures as Xavier beat St. Bonaventure 79-65 on Wednesday night.

Holloway, the Atlantic 10’s second-leading scorer at 20.3 points entering the game, out-dueled St. Bonaventure’s Andrew Nicholson, who was leading at 20.9 points.

Nicholson finished with 13 points before fouling out.

The Musketeers (12-5, 4-0) trailed 35-30 at halftime, but opened the second on a 14-4 run and took the lead for good on Jeff Robinson’s dunk with 15:47 left.

Xavier shot 68.2 percent from the field (15 of 22), 83.3 percent from the 3-point line (5 of 6) and 82.4 percent from the line (14 of 17) in the second half.

Mark Lyons scored 15 points, Robinson had 12 and Jamel McLean and Kenny Frease had 10 each for Xavier.

Ogo Adegboye led St. Bonaventure (9-8, 1-3) with 16 points, Michael Davenport had 12 and Matthew Wright had 10.
