EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon coffee shop barista says he shot and killed an armed robber when the man briefly looked away while holding him at gunpoint.

The Register-Guard reports a newly released court document says the Dutch Bros. barista told Eugene police he feared for his life in the holdup last November.

The document says the robber who was killed fired at least two gunshots toward the barista, who then encountered a second robber with a gun, and the barista exchanged gunfire with him too.

Police have charged the alleged second robber, 27-year-old Brandon Lee Plunk, with attempted aggravated murder and robbery.
