LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Kings have placed left wing Marco Sturm on injured reserve.
The Kings also recalled Andrei Loktionov from the minors before hosting the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday.
Sturm has tendinitis in his left knee. He has four goals and four assists in 15 games with the Kings, who acquired him from Boston on Dec. 11.
The German veteran had surgery on his right knee last May.
The 20-year-old Loktionov will take Sturm’s spot on the Kings’ top line. He has scored 31 points in 31 games with a plus-15 rating for the Kings’ AHL affiliate in Manchester.
