TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A former Tacoma police officer and Pierce County sheriff’s deputy is accused of stealing items from Tacoma area grocery stores and reselling them to small convenience stores.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports 46-year-old Douglas Wayne Jolliffe of Gig Harbor is charged with burglary and theft.

Jolliffe worked five or six years for the Tacoma Police Department before he was terminated in the 1990s. He had spent a short time with the sheriff’s department but was fired during probation.
