MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Venus Williams has withdrawn from the Australian Open during the second game of her fourth-round match against Andrea Petkovic.

The seven-time Grand Slam winner dropped serve in the opening game and Petkovic was ahead 30-0 when Williams appeared to hurt her upper leg or stomach lunging for a ball.

Williams, seeded fourth, was hampered by an injury in her third-round win.
