TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Former Utah State coach Brent Guy is the new defensive coordinator at Tulsa.

New Tulsa coach Bill Blankenship announced Friday that Guy would leave his position as UNLV’s linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator to lead the Golden Hurricane defense. He had been Utah State’s coach for four seasons before spending last year with UNLV.

Tulsa finished last season with seven straight wins and Blankenship is replacing Todd Graham, who left to become Pittsburgh’s head coach.

Blankenship also brought in his youngest son, Adam, as defensive ends coach and Illinois State running backs coach Holmon Wiggins to fill the same position at Tulsa.

Former Golden Hurricane quarterback James Kilian will now coach the position with the school.
