C. Conn. State beats Fairleigh Dickinson 72-67, OT

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — Ken Horton and Shemik Thompson each had a double-double to lead Central Connecticut State to a 72-67 overtime victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday.

Horton had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Thompson had 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Blue Devils (12-7, 5-3 Northeast Conference) won for the second time in three games.

Central Connecticut State used an 8-0 run to break a tie score and pull away in overtime.

Chris Baskerville hit a free throw and Horton followed with five straight points — two free throws and a 3-pointer — before Robby Ptacek capped the run with two more free throws for a 66-58 lead with 41 seconds left.

Ptacek added 10 points for Central Connecticut State.

Terence Grier led Fairleigh Dickinson (4-14, 2-6) with 15 points. Briahn Smith had 14, Kamil Svrdlik scored 13 and John Galvin added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
