TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Amin Stevens scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Florida A&M to a 45-38 win over Howard on Saturday night, snapping a seven-game losing streak.

The Rattlers (6-12, 1-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) went 13 for 44 from the floor (29.5 percent) and 15 of 32 from the free-throw line (46.9 percent), but were still able to win their first conference game of the season.

The Bison (2-16, 0-6) were even colder from the field, finishing 12 for 56 (21.4 percent), including 1 of 16 from 3-point range (6.3 percent).

Mike Phillips grabbed 11 rebounds and scored 10 points for the Bison, who have lost eight in a row. Alphonso Leary added 13 rebounds.

Avery Moore scored 11 points and Larry Jackson grabbed 14 rebounds for the Rattlers.

The 38-point output by Howard was its second lowest of the season — the Bison scored only 34 in a loss to Delaware on Nov. 19.
