Texas Southern defeats Arkansas-Pine Bluff 50-43

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — Travele Jones had 15 points and six rebounds as Texas Southern defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 50-43 in a cold-shooting game by both teams on Saturday night.

En route to their sixth straight win, the Tigers (8-9, 6-0 SWAC) made just 12 of 34 (35.3 percent) of their shots from the floor; the Golden Lions (2-16, 2-4) shot 15 of 45 (33.3 percent).

The teams combined for 43 turnovers, 24 by Arkansas-Little Rock.

Terrell Kennedy scored 12 points and Daniel Broughton 11 for the Golden Lions.

Kevin Galloway had nine points for Texas Southern. Galloway’s 3-pointer kicked off a 9-2 run over a second-half period of 3:27 that gave the Tigers a 46-36 lead. Arkansas-Little Rock got no closer than seven afterward.
