EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Darren Holmes overcame a stomach virus to score 14 points and lead Evansville to a 70-67 victory over Bradley on Sunday.

Holmes was 6 for 7 from the field, and Kenneth Harris, Colt Ryan and Pieter van Tongeren added 11 points each for the Purple Aces (10-9, 4-5 Missouri Valley), who are 8-2 at home this season. Harris led Evansville with eight rebounds.

Jordan Prosser, Will Egolf and Andrew Warren scored 12 points apiece for Bradley (6-14, 0-9). Prosser had eight rebounds.

Evansville was ahead after Ned Cox’s 3-pointer made it 9-7, and later built a 13-point first-half lead. But the Braves used a late 14-5 run to get close, with Prosser’s layup with 10 seconds left making the score 68-67. Van Tongeren made two free throws and Bradley missed its final shot.
