North Carolina Central jars Western Illinois 66-58

MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — C.J. Wilkerson scored 25 points to pace North Carolina Central to a 66-58 nonconference victory over Western Illinois on Wednesday night.

Landon Clement added 21 points and Nick Chasten 12 for the Eagles (9-9), who have won four of their last five games.

Kaimarr Price scored 20 points for the Leathernecks (7-13), who lost their third in a row and sixth in their last seven. Brandon Smith scored 13, including three 3-pointers, and Matt Lander had 12. Jelani Johnson grabbed a game-best eight rebounds.

Trailing 7-5, the Eagles went on an 11-0 run, all but two by Wilkerson, to make it 16-7 with 10 minutes left in the first half. They led 29-22 at intermission, and the lead peaked at 35-22 early in the second half.

Wilkerson has scored 119 points his last four games.
