Cleveland State sinks Illinois-Chicago 63-49

CHICAGO (AP) — Norris Cole scored a game-high 22 points in Cleveland State’s 63-49 victory over Illinois-Chicago on Thursday night.

The Vikings (19-3, 8-2 Horizon) trailed 31-29 at halftime but pulled ahead in the second half on 50 percent shooting from the field. The final score was their largest lead.

Jeremy Montgomery added 13 points for Cleveland State.

The Flames (5-16, 0-9) led by as many as nine points in the first half on 50 percent shooting from the field, but they fell off to 26.9 percent after the break.

Brad Birton grabbed a double-double for Illinois-Chicago, scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Robo Kreps added 10 points for the Flames.
