Oakland, Mich., holds off Oral Roberts 88-85

ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — Will Hudson’s 22 points and nine rebounds helped Oakland, Mich., survive Oral Roberts for its eighth straight victory, an 88-85 decision Thursday night.

Reggie Hamilton added 21 points and Keith Benson 20 for the Golden Grizzlies (15-8, 10-0), who extended their Summit League winning streak to 18 and started 10-0 in conference for the first time in school history. Travis Bader scored 15 and Drew Valentine 10 for Oakland, which shot 54.5 percent (30 of 55) and had only five players score.

Dominique Morrison led the Golden Eagles (9-13, 6-4) with 24 points, and Damen Bell-Holter had 22 points and 11 rebounds. Ken Holdman added 16 points and Warren Niles 15 for Oral Roberts, which made 24 of 25 free throws.

Oakland led 82-72 with 1:10 left. Niles’ 3-pointer pulled Oral Roberts within 86-85 with 7 seconds left, but Hamilton hit two free throws for the final margin.
