Child, 2, falls from 4-story window, survives

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A 2-year-old child who fell from a fourth-floor window in Portland is expected to recover.

KGW-TV reports the child was standing on a bed next to the window in a southeast Portland apartment on Wednesday, and then fell out.

Portland police said the family took the child to the hospital in a cab and the toddler was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.

No further details were available but investigators said it appeared to be an accident.
