WASHINGTON – The average weekly wage in Clark County was $860 in the fourth quarter of 2010, up 2 percent from the same period a year ago, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday.
The average weekly wage for Washington increased by 2.9 percent to $981 in the same period. Nationwide, the average weekly wage went up by 3 percent to $971 in the same period. Among the nation’s 326 largest counties, 294 had over-the-year increases in average weekly wages. Ranked by percentage increase, Clark County came in at 198th. Olmsted, Minn., had the largest wage gain among the largest U.S. counties: 31.9 percent. Union, N.J., had the largest wage decline with a loss of 2.8 percent from the same period a year ago.
