Letter: Campaigning isn’t their job

The Columbian

After reading Peter Callaghan’s June 29 column, “McKenna, Inslee start runs too soon,” I wondered why taxpayers who are not constituents of these politicians should be paying their salary during any time line that they are also campaigning?

Times are such that politicians should not be paid for work they aren’t doing. It’s easy to see how something like this happens when the foxes are guarding the hen house.
