Fourth Plain Village — A summer playground program at Evergreen Park has received funding for a fourth year.

Thanks to commitments from Comcast and Veolia Water to match a $6,000 United Way of the Columbia-Willamette challenge grant, neighborhood children can attend the five-day-a-week Evergreen Park Summer Playground Program.

Comcast has committed to giving $3,000 per year for 2012 and 2013, as well. The drop-in program offers free, supervised games and activities designed to keep elementary-aged children active and healthful.

The program began June 27 and runs Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through Aug. 12.
