The first tenant of Washougal Town Square has left the building, but her new office is only a block and a half away from it.

Friday was Martha Martin’s first day in the new space at 82 Washougal River Road, Ste. 110.

“I relocated in order to keep my fees reasonable, with the economy taking longer to recover than anticipated,” she said. “Since I am the only psychologist in Washougal, it is important that affordable mental health services be available to our local community.

“I have enjoyed my time at Washougal Town Square, and I am sad to leave,” Martin added. “My new location is still in downtown Washougal, and I will offer the same professional quality services.”

She hopes other mental health care professionals — including a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner — will locate in Washougal.

Martin has been a psychologist for 18 years. She provides counseling for individuals, couples, groups and families, as well as psychological assessments for adolescents, police officers and new employees. In addition to couples workshops, other session topics include lifestyle management and stress and burnout on the job.
