East Clark County parents interested in enrolling their children in alternative education programs are invited to attend a meeting Thursday night to discuss the potential for starting a Columbia Gorge-based school.

After 15 years in Camas, the River Homelink program is moving to Battle Ground for the 2011-12 school year. The move resulted from state budget cuts and newly available space at the district’s Center for Agricultural, Scientific and Environmental Education complex on Northeast 149th Street, just west of state Highway 503.

Thursday’s meeting at the Port of Camas-Washougal, 24 S. A St., will update parents on the Homelink program’s move to Battle Ground and the search for a school district sponsor for a new program, as well as serve to measure interest in a new alternative education program in east Clark County. The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
