Argentina takes 2-0 lead against Kazakhstan

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Juan Monaco and Juan Martin del Potro have won three-set matches to give Argentina a 2-0 lead in its Davis Cup quarterfinal against Kazakhstan.

Monaco defeated Andrey Golubev 6-3, 6-0, 6-4, while Del Potro cruised past Mikhail Kukushkin 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday.

Doubles are set for Friday, with reverse singles on Saturday.

Play started a day earlier than usual because of elections on Sunday in Buenos Aires.
