KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) — A former mayor of Prosser, Wash., has been sentenced to three months in jail for molesting a 14-year-old boy.

The Tri-City Herald reports that 50-year-old Linda Lusk has been serving time on work release since pleading guilty May 20 to third-degree child molestation. She was sentenced Thursday in Superior Court.

She will have to register as a sex offender for 10 years as part of the plea.

Court documents say Lusk admitted touching the boy inappropriately in April 2010 when he stopped by her home to have her sign a community service form.

As part of the plea, charges of third-degree rape of a child and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes were dismissed.
