Evergreen Public Schools is soliciting name suggestions for its new Health and BioScience Academy set to open in 2013.

The high school is being built at Northeast 92nd Avenue and Ninth Street, northeast of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

The small school will have a curriculum focused on bioscience and health care, and is intended to prepare students for jobs in the health care field.

The name of the new school can be reflective of a historically significant story about the people and the area, representative of the area or the name of a person of importance.

Name suggestions can be submitted by email to carol.fenstermacher@evergreenps.org or by mail to Evergreen Public Schools’ Community Relations Department, P.O. Box 8910, Vancouver, WA 98668-8910.

The deadline for submitting suggestions is Aug. 8.
