Maple Forest wins Monmouth Feature

OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) — Maple Forest drew off in the stretch to win the $75,000 Dearly Precious Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday, beating Moonlit Malibu by 114 lengths.

Trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Joe Bravo, the 3-year-old filly ran the six furlongs over a fast track in 1:09 1-5 and returned $5.40, $3.20 and $2.60. It was the third win in eight career starts for Maple Forest, who has now earned $152,566 overall.

Moonlit Malibu paid $5.60 and $3, while Bold Affair was another 114 lengths back in third and returned $2.60.
