MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A Medford man is suing a chain of car dealerships over promotional texts.

The Mail Tribune reports that Dan McLaren filed a class action lawsuit in a Portland federal court against Lithia Motors this past week. McLaren worked at Lithia Motors for three years before departing in March.

He alleges that after his departure he tried to stop promotion texts, but that those kept coming. McLaren is being represented by Edelson McGuire, a Chicago law firm that has successfully sued in the past over the use of texts in promotions.

An attorney for Lithia Motors says they are looking into the lawsuit.
