CHICAGO (AP) — Minnesota Twins outfielder Delmon Young is ready to return from a sprained right ankle.

Manager Ron Gardenhire said after Sunday’s win over the Chicago White Sox that the Twins are activating Young from the 15-day disabled list, recalling infielder Trevor Plouffe from Triple-A Rochester and sending catcher Rene Rivera and outfielder Rene Tosoni to the minor-league club.

Young has been sidelined since June 25, when he left the field on a stretcher after spraining his right ankle while jamming his leg and right foot into the base of the wall in the fifth inning of a game at Milwaukee. It was the second trip to the DL for Young, who also spent time there with a left oblique strain. He is batting .256 with two homers and 20 RBIs in 55 games.
